Fluet proudly announces that two of the firm’s attorneys have been recognized by Virginia Lawyers Weekly in their prestigious 2025 recognition programs. Managing Partner Tom Craig has been named to the “Leaders in the Law” class, while Senior Associate Kelly DuBois has been selected for the “Up & Coming Lawyers” class.
Leaders in the Law: Thomas “Tom” Craig
Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s signature “Leaders in the Law” program honors attorneys who set the standard for other lawyers in the profession. Tom Craig, Managing Partner, has been recognized for his exceptional leadership and legal acumen.
Tom represents, advises, and counsels individuals and entities across a wide variety of matters, including government contracting, sensitive government inquiries and internal investigations, complex civil litigation, export and other regulatory compliance, structuring business transactions, and criminal defense.
With extensive experience representing government contractors in high-stakes litigation, Tom has achieved remarkable results, including helping a major defense manufacturer obtain a nine-figure judgment from its principal subcontractor in a case involving allegations of overcharging and trade secret violations. While handling all matters related to government contractors, from bid protests to teaming agreements, he specializes in high-profile and high-risk matters requiring comprehensive coordination of legal, media, political, and consulting efforts.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Illinois and graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as an editor of the Georgetown Law Journal. Tom also had a distinguished 21-year military career as an active-duty Marine, primarily in intelligence and counterintelligence roles.
Tom currently serves as a Board Member for the Marine Corps Association, Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, and Young Marines. He was also spotlighted as a “Top Managing Partner” by Virginia Lawyers Weekly in 2024.
Up & Coming Lawyers: Kelly DuBois
The “Up & Coming Lawyers” program recognizes attorneys who, in their first decade of practice, demonstrate exceptional promise as future leaders in the legal profession.
Kelly DuBois, Senior Associate in the firm’s Litigation + Investigations Practice, has established himself as a vital member of the firm’s litigation team, handling complex cases across Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC involving commercial disputes, employment matters, defamation, and constitutional claims. His practice focuses on advising clients in high-stakes disputes, often in heavily regulated environments.
Working alongside Litigation + Investigations Practice Chair Kevin Byrnes, Kelly has been instrumental in Fluet’s efforts to protect federal employees and contractors facing discrimination or other unlawful employment actions. His work includes representing members of the Intelligence Community in federal lawsuits, and representing federal employees in appeals to the MSPB and complaints before the EEOC, including seeking consolidated legal action that provides accessible legal recourse to those who might not otherwise be able to afford representation.
“Kelly is an energetic, highly capable attorney with great client rapport who performs solid legal work and presents himself professionally in court,” notes Kevin Byrnes. “His ability to navigate diverse cases compares with experienced partners in the field.”
A Duke University and Notre Dame Law School graduate, Kelly was also recently named in 2025 by Best Lawyers as “Ones to Watch® in Washington, DC.”
