Government Contracts Associate (Counseling)
Position Description
As an Associate in our Government Contracts Practice, you will be counseling government contractors of all sizes on all legal aspects of government contracting, with a focus on often complex compliance, regulatory, and transactional matters. You will be part of a dynamic and collegial team with opportunities to work directly with clients and to expand and shape your own practice.
Experience with drafting, analyzing, and negotiating agreements (e.g., teaming agreements, prime and subcontract agreements, license agreements, other transaction authority agreements, and/or grant and cooperative agreements) is essential, along with a broad range of regulatory compliance (e.g., FAR/DFARS) experience. Additionally, experience with bid protests, suspension and debarment, compliance audits, novations, small business programs, GSA schedules, intellectual property and data rights, cybersecurity, labor and employment issues, internal and government investigations, domestic preference requirements, and/or FAA regulatory matters is desirable. A successful candidate will possess excellent analytical, research and writing skills, strong communication and client management abilities, an ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment, and consistent attention to detail.
This position can expect to have direct interaction with clients and responsibility for managing matters independently.
Qualifications

Corporate Associate
Position Description
Fluet is seeking a mid-level or senior Associate to join our established Corporate + Transactional Practice. The practice represents private equity funds, investors, and lenders in mergers and acquisitions, venture and equity investments, and debt transactions. In addition, Fluet represents and advises companies of all types, particularly those involved in software-as-a-service, aerospace, defense, intelligence and dual-use technologies.
Ideal candidates should have at least three years of corporate or transactional experience in a law firm dealing with mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, and/or bank or private placement lending experience. Candidates with experience and familiarity with issues dealing with federal government contractors will be at an advantage.
This is a partnership-track position that provides the opportunity to take on significant responsibility in leading deals and transactions and managing associates.
We are seeking motivated, capable candidates with a demonstrated history of taking initiative in leading deals through closing, providing actionable advice, and developing practical solutions to clients’ problems. Candidates should have excellent academic credentials and references, as well as strong written and oral communication skills.

Senior Litigation Associate
Position Description
As Senior Associate in our Litigation + Investigations Practice, you will represent clients across a broad range of complex disputes and high-stakes matters, including commercial litigation, government contracts litigation, government investigations, internal investigations, and regulatory enforcement actions. You will be part of a dynamic and collegial team with opportunities to work directly with clients and to expand and shape your own practice.
In this role, you will:
- Handle litigation matters in federal and state courts
- Draft and argue motions, briefs, and other key filings
- Manage discovery, including document strategy, review, and production
- Support and lead responses to government investigations, subpoenas, and enforcement actions
- Conduct and assist with internal investigations, including witness interviews and fact development
- Prepare investigative reports, presentations, and client-facing analyses
- Advise clients on risk mitigation and compliance in connection with disputes and investigations
- Prepare clients for testimony before agencies, inspectors general, and congressional committees
- Participate in hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
Experience as a lead associate with substantial responsibility in federal and state court litigation, administrative proceedings, and alternative dispute resolution is essential, along with experience handling or supporting government and internal investigations.
Additionally, experience with government investigations and inquiries (including inspector general, agency, or congressional matters), employment-related disputes (such as whistleblower and EEO claims), and compliance reviews or audits involving regulatory regimes (e.g., FAR/DFARS and ITAR) is desirable.
A successful candidate will possess excellent analytical, research, and writing skills; strong oral advocacy and communication abilities; sound judgment in high-pressure situations; an ability to manage multiple matters as a lead associate in a fast-paced environment; and consistent attention to detail.
This position involves direct interaction with clients and responsibility for managing matters independently, including developing litigation strategy, coordinating responses to investigations, and contributing meaningfully to litigation and risk mitigation efforts.

Litigation Paralegal/Senior Paralegal
Position Description
Fluet is seeking a full-time Litigation Paralegal or Senior Paralegal with extensive case management experience to provide high-level support to attorneys in all phases of civil litigation, from case inception through trial and appeal. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, proactive professional with exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills who can effectively manage complex matters across federal and state courts and government agencies in a fast-paced legal environment. Fluet is a premier, boutique law firm in Tysons, VA that provides robust legal services to the national security, aerospace, defense, and intelligence sectors.
Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of litigation, including document collection, discovery, trial preparation, and filings.
- Draft, proofread, and cite-check pleadings, motions, and briefs for accuracy and compliance with court rules.
- Conduct legal research and verify authorities using Bluebook citation standards.
- Shepardize and validate case law, statutes, and regulations to ensure accuracy of legal citations.
- Prepare and maintain Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities for complex filings.
- Assist with fact development, deposition preparation, and trial exhibit organization.
- Support attorneys during depositions, hearings, trials, and arbitrations, including on-site trial assistance when necessary.
- Coordinate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel regarding case scheduling and logistics.
- Manage case files, calendars, and deadlines using litigation management software.
- Mentor junior paralegals and legal administrative staff, and serve as a resource on litigation and trial matters to the lawyers and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support attorneys and Firm operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal certificate required.
- 4+ years of civil litigation paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
- Strong knowledge of court procedures and filing requirements at federal and state levels.
- Proficiency with legal research databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis) and eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, Everlaw, GoldFynch, Reveal).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe, and case management software (e.g., iManage, Clio, Filevine, NetDocuments, or similar).
