“Marlena exemplifies the values that define Fluet—exceptional legal skills, unwavering commitment to our clients, and meaningful service to our community,” said Tom Craig, Managing Partner at Fluet. “Her leadership in government contracts law and her dedication to supporting our firm and clients makes her an invaluable asset. This recognition is well deserved.”

She particularly enjoys helping small businesses and their large business partners optimize development and growth through joint ventures, mentor-protégé agreements, teaming arrangements and M&A activities.
In addition to her legal practice, Marlena helps lead Fluet’s Community and Pro Bono Committee, which focuses on supporting entrepreneurs and veteran-owned businesses, a cause aligned with her extensive work with small businesses and government contractors. She also enjoys mentoring associates at the firm and helping others develop their practice.
Marlena earned her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Hispanic Studies from the College of William & Mary and her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center while working full-time. She has been awarded the Civilian Service Achievement Medal by the Secretary of the Army and was previously recognized as an “Emerging Woman Leader in Law” by DCA Live in 2023 and 2024.
