Fluet is proud to announce that firm Founder, Joe Fluet, will deliver the commencement address to the University of Florida (UF) Levin College of Law Class of 2025 on Friday, May 16, 2025.

Joe graduated from UF Law in 1999 with high honors after returning from active military duty. Following graduation, he clerked for the Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit before establishing our firm.

“Joe’s invitation to address the UF Law Class of 2025 reflects not only his remarkable professional achievements but also his enduring commitment to mentorship and service,” says Tom Craig, Managing Partner. “His journey from law school graduate to influential leader across multiple industries offers an inspiring roadmap for these new attorneys.”

A Multifaceted Career

Joe’s professional journey spans multiple domains:

  • Legal Leadership: As founder of Fluet, Joe has built a practice addressing complex government inquiries, internal investigations, corporate structures, business transactions, export compliance, and government contracts.
  • Military Service: With 21 years of service in both active and reserve forces, Joe is a veteran of conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. His military career includes significant contributions to security, combat aviation, special operations, and counter-narcotics efforts. Notably, he created the Afghan Special Mission Wing, the only special operations aviation unit in the Afghan Air Corps.
  • Business Innovation: In 2010, Joe founded MAG Aerospace, which grew into a global leader in aerial reconnaissance and intelligence services with thousands of employees operating over 300 aircraft worldwide.

As a recognized leader in the defense, intelligence, and aviation industries, Joe serves on several corporate and non-profit boards and was honored with the EY Entrepreneur of the Year national award in 2017.

The firm congratulates Joe on this well-deserved recognition and looks forward to his address to the next generation of UF Law graduates. The Commencement ceremony will be live-streamed for those who wish to listen in.
