In late 2020, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) implemented new rules to obtain Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB) certifications.

Previously, businesses could self-certify as a WOSB or EDWOSB status and qualify for set-aside contracts. Now, businesses must be certified by the SBA.

Businesses should create a profile on Beta.Certify.SBA.gov and upload their information so the SBA may confirm their set-aside status. If you are a small business that previously self-certified on the old system (Certify.SBA.gov), you will have until March 31, 2021 to retrieve and migrate your documents to the new system (Beta.Certify.SBA.gov). If you were previously self-certified, take a few minutes to get your business certified on Beta.Certify.SBA.gov.
