In late 2020, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) implemented new rules to obtain Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB) certifications.

Previously, businesses could self-certify as a WOSB or EDWOSB status and qualify for set-aside contracts. Now, businesses must be certified by the SBA.

Businesses should create a profile on and upload their information so the SBA may confirm their set-aside status.
