Fluet is pleased to announce that Michael O’Leary has joined as Partner in the firm’s Government Contracts, International Trade, and Litigation + Investigations Practices. Michael brings valuable experience as a former federal prosecutor and private practice attorney, positioning him to provide strategic counsel on complex regulatory and litigation matters.

Michael counsels clients on economic sanctions programs, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), foreign investment reviews including CFIUS, False Claims Act matters, FCPA compliance, anti-money laundering laws, and regulatory obligations under the Lobbying Disclosure Act and Foreign Agents Registration Act. He partners with clients to develop practical risk-based compliance programs tailored to their specific business needs while also representing companies and individuals in government investigations and enforcement actions.

Prior to joining Fluet, Michael served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida in Miami, where he investigated and prosecuted a wide variety of federal offenses. During his tenure, he served as lead counsel or co-lead counsel in sixteen jury trials and handled numerous appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He also previously served as a judicial law clerk to Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
