Team Member Profile

Jared Sammons is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in government contracting, procurement law, and small business advisory. As part of his practice at Fluet, he sits in the firm’s Government Contracts Practice, advising on all government contracting matters from cradle to grave. These matters include transactions that form entities and relationships, as well as creating model documents for clients’ everyday use. In addition, he is adept at disputes that arise in obtaining and performing government contracts. Mr. Sammons also advises on compliance issues with the numerous government contracting regulations that companies face, like the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and False Claims Act.

Mr. Sammons earned a degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia, where he was in the Honors Program. After graduating, he spent two years working at Lockheed Martin as a Contracts Negotiator, where he administered federal and commercial contracts, assisted with audit preparation, and led efforts for contract closeouts— in sum, experiencing how contracts teams operate daily.

Ultimately, he decided to pursue a law degree to contribute to the government contracting space from a different perspective. Mr. Sammons received his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Washington and Lee University School of Law and began his career journey at the Small Business Administration (SBA). At the SBA, his focus was primarily on managing the Economic Injury Disaster Loan program, evaluating loan applications, analyzing business size, and determining creditworthiness for small businesses seeking economic aid.

Following his time at the SBA, Mr. Sammons served as an Assistant General Counsel at the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), where he worked on a variety of government contracting matters. These included bid protests, disputes and claims, compliance and transactional issues, internal investigations, and providing legal counsel on the entire contracting lifecycle for major contracts like GSA’s Multiple Award Schedules and Multi-Agency Contracts, involving the FAR, Small Business Act, and other applicable statutes and regulations governing procurement law.

With his diverse background and deep expertise in government contracting law, Mr. Sammons brings invaluable knowledge and experience to Fluet.
