Fluet is pleased to welcome Bradley McConnell, an attorney with extensive experience in navigating the often-complex world of corporate contracts, to our team as a Partner. Mr. McConnell leads the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions and Venture Capital practice group.

Mr. McConnell’s more than 25 years of corporate practice – since his early days in the 1990s tech boom – has ranged across many industries, but he has particular expertise working with technology-focused companies and those who invest in them, including companies that straddle the commercial and government contracting sectors.

“Brad understands the needs of mid-sized and growing companies, regardless of what industry they occupy, by taking a holistic and long-term look at clients’ goals,” Managing Partner Tom Craig said. “His deep experience in the venture capital arena is a tremendous addition to our corporate practice, and enhances our ability to work with businesses at every stage of investment.”

Mr. McConnell’s experience working with emerging technology startups, venture financing, M&A deals, and initial public offerings has provided him with insights on how to advise growing companies to not only navigate the transaction at hand, but lay a strong framework for the next possible stage of growth.

“I’m very excited to be joining Fluet and sharing in its commitment to guiding companies through growth,” Mr. McConnell said. “I’m also eager to work alongside such a great team of lawyers who have extensive experience in government contracts, regulatory matters, and litigation, particularly related to national defense.”

Previously, Mr. McConnell practiced in the Mergers & Acquisitions practice group at Holland & Knight and the Venture Capital and Emerging Growth Companies practice group at what is now one of the largest firms in the world, DLA Piper. Mr. McConnell was also the co-founder of a legal software as a service (SaaS) company called LegalForte, Inc.

Mr. McConnell earned his juris doctorate from The George Washington University Law School and his Bachelor of Arts in Medieval and Renaissance History from Princeton University. He is licensed to practice in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
