Dave Jonas, Fluet Partner and 20-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, strives to make a positive impact on the lives of youth each year by serving as pro bono General Counsel for the Young Marines.

Jonas is an accomplished attorney with diverse legal, military, government,  and leadership experience. Dave finds great reward in giving back to the organization and its mission by providing invaluable legal support to the leadership team. Since 2016, Jonas has held the role of General Counsel and continually donates over 300 hours of legal work annually through contract review, negotiations, employment and corporate legal advice, and assistance with any other issues the group may encounter.

“I am honored to support their mission and truly believe that their programs help youth become better citizens,” says Jonas. “It’s so important to find ways to give and I’m lucky to have ties to such a great organization through my own time as a U.S. Marine.”

The nonprofit staff of 11 is responsible for overseeing programs in 42 states, coordinating  2,500 Adult Volunteers, and training and supporting  over 7,500 Young Marines (ages 7 to high school graduation) through their well-established national  program.

“We can never truly thank Dave Jonas enough for his years as the General Counsel for the Young Marines,” says Colonel William P. Davis, Young Marines National Executive Director and CEO. “His pro bono work as the [General Counsel] comes with hundreds of hours annually working issues for our program often on weekends and evenings. His insights and experience help us mitigate risks and run an effective national nonprofit youth organization. Dave’s personal commitment to our mission saves us tens of thousands of dollars, keeping our funds focused on supporting our youth members to become our next generation of leaders.”

Through this meaningful partnership, Jonas hopes to help inspire others to make a difference in their local community. At Fluet, we believe and echo the GivingTuesday sentiment that every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to contribute toward building the better world we all want to live in.
