Government Contracts Counsel (Disputes)
Position Description
As a Counsel in our Government Contracts Practice, you will be advocating for government contractors of all sizes with all aspects of government contracts disputes – sometimes as First Chair. You will be part of a dynamic and collegial team with opportunities to work directly with clients and to expand and shape your own practice.
Experience with regulatory compliance (e.g., FAR/DFARS), drafting and negotiating agreements (e.g., teaming agreements, prime and subcontract agreements), and government investigations is essential. Additionally, experience with prime-sub disputes, bid protests, suspension and debarment, compliance audits, novations, and small business programs is desirable. A successful candidate will possess excellent writing skills, strong communication abilities, and consistent attention to detail.
This position can expect to have direct interaction with clients and responsibility for managing matters independently.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in Government Contracts
- Admission (or waiver) to Virginia Bar
Preferred Qualifications
- DoD/National Security background
- Judicial Clerkship in the Court of Federal Claims or Board of Contract Appeals
- Work experience with a federal contractor, a government agency, and/or a nationally recognized government contracts practice
Corporate Associate
Position Description
We are seeking a mid-level or senior Associate to join its established Corporate + Transactional Practice. The practice represents private equity funds, investors, and lenders in mergers and acquisitions, venture and equity investments, and debt transactions. In addition, Fluet represents and advises companies of all types, particularly those involved in software-as-a-service, aerospace, defense, intelligence and dual-use technologies.
Ideal candidates should have at least three years of corporate or transactional experience in a law firm dealing with mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, and/or bank or private placement lending experience. Candidates with experience and familiarity with issues dealing with federal government contractors will be at an advantage.
This is a partnership-track position that provides the opportunity to take on significant responsibility in leading deals and transactions and managing associates.
We are seeking motivated, capable candidates with a demonstrated history of taking initiative in leading deals through closing, providing actionable advice, and developing practical solutions to clients’ problems. Candidates should have excellent academic credentials and references, as well as strong written and oral communication skills.
This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with a rapidly growing team of experienced practitioners on sophisticated matters that are more typically handled by Am Law 100 firms.
The position is eligible for hybrid work. The expectation would be for at least two days in our Tysons, VA office.
Qualifications

Paralegal/Senior Paralegal
Position Description
Fluet is seeking a Paralegal or Senior Paralegal with extensive case management experience to provide high-level support to attorneys in all phases of civil litigation, from case inception through trial and appeal. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, proactive professional with exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills who can effectively manage complex matters across federal and state courts and government agencies in a fast-paced legal environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of litigation, including document collection, discovery, trial preparation, and filings
- Draft, proofread, and cite-check pleadings, motions, and briefs for accuracy and compliance with court rules
- Conduct legal research and verify authorities using Bluebook citation standards
- Shepardize and validate case law, statutes, and regulations to ensure accuracy of legal citations
- Prepare and maintain Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities for complex filings
- Assist with fact development, deposition preparation, and trial exhibit organization
- Support attorneys during depositions, hearings, trials, and arbitrations, including on-site trial assistance when necessary
- Coordinate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel regarding case scheduling and logistics
- Manage case files, calendars, and deadlines using litigation management software
- Mentor junior paralegals and legal administrative staff, and serve as a resource on litigation and trial matters to the lawyers and staff
- Perform other duties as assigned to support attorneys and Firm operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal certificate required
- 4+ years of civil litigation paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm setting
- Strong knowledge of court procedures and filing requirements at federal and state levels
- Proficiency with legal research databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis) and eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, Everlaw, GoldFynch, Reveal)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe, and case management software (e.g., Clio, Filevine, NetDocuments, or similar)
- Corporate experience is a plus
