Fluet is pleased to announce that we are a nominee for the Greater Washington Innovation Awards, which celebrates thought leadership, innovation, and creativity in individuals and organizations in the DC metro area.

Fluet was established by attorneys who wanted more autonomy and work-life balance than a traditional law firm could offer.

“We built our firm based on the belief that every lawyer should have the kind of practice they want, not the kind of practice firm managers want them to have,” Managing Partner Tom Craig said.

When Fluet expanded to a new office in Tysons last year, our partners brainstormed innovations that would strengthen this entrepreneurial culture.

“We ended up seeing an opportunity to affect the legal industry as a whole,” Craig said. “So, we created Chisel, the DC metro area’s first coworking space exclusively for lawyers.”

Chisel – Coworking for Lawyers provides its lawyer members with what they need for day-to-day operations, such as private offices, secure printing/copying, and multiple conference rooms appropriate for depositions. The workspace also has what lawyers need to grow their practices, like community events for networking, bookable event space with livestreaming and webinar capabilities, and a mentoring program.

Since the official open of Chisel in August 2017, Fluet’s culture has strengthened and business has grown tremendously.

“Welcoming attorneys who share our values of service to clients and legal entrepreneurship has re-invigorated our office environment and allowed for referrals among both Fluet and Chisel lawyers,” Craig said.
