Vanessa Treviño is a Senior Paralegal at Fluet, where she supports the firm’s Litigation + Investigations Practice with comprehensive case management and litigation support.
Ms. Treviño brings over a decade of paralegal experience spanning complex litigation, appeals, and post-conviction matters. She is bilingual in Spanish and English, enabling her to effectively serve diverse client populations and conduct investigations across language barriers.
At Fluet, Ms. Treviño manages all phases of litigation support, including discovery analysis, legal research, and trial preparation. She is proficient in e-filing procedures for both state and federal courts, including CM/ECF, and maintains meticulous organization of case files and medical records. Ms. Treviño conducts skip-trace investigations, prepares pleadings and discovery documents, and coordinates with expert witnesses and investigators. Her experience includes synthesizing data, preparing counsel for deposition, handling FOIA requests, and managing subpoena processes.
Prior to joining Fluet, Ms. Treviño served as a Litigation Paralegal at one of the nation’s largest personal injury firms, where she analyzed discovery, drafted pleadings, and conducted trial preparation for the firm’s trial partner. She also provided training and oversight to legal assistants and junior paralegals. Earlier in her career, Ms. Treviño worked on complex criminal defense matters, including federal appeals in the 9th Circuit, and post-conviction relief matters. She developed mitigation strategies for sentencing, managed voluminous discovery files, traveled out-of-state to assist counsel during federal legal visits, and attended substantive hearings as well as trials with counsel. Her responsibilities included preparing case analysis outlines, chronologies, mitigation, trial preparation, and leading team briefings to keep staff informed of case developments.
In her free time, you can find Vanessa with her pups, Sasha and Shiloh, exploring new East Coast cities and states, creating abstract paintings, perfecting traditional family recipes, or expanding her skillset through various CLEs.
