Allison Alexander is a Partner in Fluet’s Corporate + Transactional Practice. Her experience bridges the worlds of investment and law and brings a unique business perspective and market insight to Fluet’s clients through her concurrent role as a partner in an early-stage venture capital firm that supports founders who are building tech-enabled companies in a variety of sectors, including GovTech, B2B and B2G SaaS, HealthTech, and FinTech.
Allison’s decades of experience in law and venture capital underpin her holistic approach to client service. She understands not only the legal implications of a particular matter, but also the practical business realities our clients face in leading and growing their organizations. Her work enables Allison to provide valuable insights into operational and legal strategies and the ability to leverage her background and networks to help our clients support their business objectives.
Earlier in her career, Allison served in-house as Vice President and General Counsel of a private investment firm with nearly $2B in AUM across a diverse portfolio. In this role, she led legal strategy and operations while overseeing the formation, maintenance, and governance of more than 80 investment and management entities. She also held top legal posts as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of a private equity-backed life sciences company, where she led global legal and compliance strategy and functions for a company with more than 60 subsidiaries, 3,100 employees, and 40 international locations, and as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of an investment firm focused on the telecommunications, media, and technology sectors.
Allison began her career as an attorney in the corporate and securities practice of a global AM Law 100 law firm, where she advised numerous early-stage, growth-stage, and mature companies across various markets in connection with investment, M&A, and commercial transactions and other general corporate matters. While there, she also managed professional development and mentoring programs for the firm’s partners and associates.
In her volunteer time, Allison serves on the nonprofit boards of organizations focused on supporting vulnerable children and their families and women entrepreneurs.
